Big brother is watching: Anyone who owns a cell phone should be talking about the recent discovery that Apple is using location tracking software in their operating system.
That means that they can (and are) tracking your every move, and they are also storing that data. No one seems to know why they need this information, but most aren’t happy about it. A class action lawsuit was just filed against Apple this week in Florida, and two U.S. senators have sent direct requests to the company urging more details to be forthcoming. Apple has yet to release a statement on the matter. Update: All of the reports I’ve read about changing the settings on your iPhone seem to agree that the change does not really disable the tracking capability. Oh, and just in case you think it’s just Apple; Google, Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile all have the capability to do the same thing. You can find more information about location tracking here.
