At the risk of sounding incredibly vain, narcissistic, conceited, attention-whoring, etc., etc., I could never quite figure out why some people absolutely hate to have their picture taken.
I usually never have a camera handy when a great photo-op presents itself, but I’ve also never met a camera lens I didn’t love either. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is entirely up to individual interpretation. So, going on the assumption that those picture-phobic folks don’t like the way they look in photos, Panasonic has introduced a new camera that may be able to help.
The Panasonic Lumix digital camera works in a couple of different ways to ensure a perfect picture with every shot. When the camera is in Cosmetic Mode, you can take portraits with different impressions of your skin. You can look like you just got a great tan, or defocus wrinkles or other imperfections. In Beauty Retouch Mode, you can modify the Esthetics of the picture to whiten teeth, smooth skin, take away shine, and other effects. You can also add Make-up on the lips, cheeks, eyes, and face. It’s like having Photoshop built into the camera! (Whether that’s a good or bad thing is entirely up to individual interpretation.)
You can take a look at some of the before and after shots from the company’s website and judge for yourself. If hearing the words “Say Cheese!” makes you cringe, this camera may help you feel a little more comfortable about capturing memories at the next family gathering. Of course, true beauty comes from within, but a little help never hurt, right?
